“Celebrating the Spirit of Revival"
HISTORY
In 1962,
The Peoples’ Church was founded on Barracks Row as a hospital for
those who were wounded in spirit. Two visionaries, Reverends Fred and Charlotte Hall
transformed an abandoned and dilapidated movie theater into a refuge of
comfort and healing.
MISSION
For over
four decades, the unchanging mission of The Peoples’ Church has been
to follow the words of Christ; "Come unto Me, all you who labor and
are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.“
As The Peoples’ Church approaches the half-century mark, we celebrate
the spirit of revival of Barracks Row with a renewed commitment to
minister to our neighbors on Capitol Hill.
Over the past 44
years, The Peoples’ Church has grown and developed ministries for its
members and the community:
Educational
Assistance – The Peoples’ Church provides scholarships to
our members who are full-time college students.
In Fall 2006, educational grants were awarded to 12 young people.
Youth
Ministry – The Peoples’ Church has
developed a comprehensive community- based program for mentoring youth
from infancy through high school graduation that includes Children’s
Community Bible Workshop, Vacation Bible Camp and Friday night teen

Africa.

enter the ministry through full-time enrollment at a Bible college or
seminary.
